Ellen began her design career at an early age, attending every art class offered at her high school including pottery, sculpture, painting, drawing, printmaking, and video production. Driven by this passion she soon went on to earn a B.S. and Master’s of Architecture at the Roger Williams University in Bristol, Rhode Island.
During her time at Roger Williams, Ellen had the opportunity to spend a semester abroad in Florence, Italy studying architecture and photographing many beautiful cities and landscapes. She interned for the Newport Historic Preservation Society and the Community Partnership in Bristol, RI where she gained knowledge and a deep appreciation for historically significant sites. Her summers were always spent back home in Portland, Maine working as an Architect Intern and on the ocean with her family boating and surfing.
Upon earning her Master’s, Ellen joined a firm in Andover, Massachusetts where she worked extensively on a new elementary school, in addition to various healthcare, commercial, and government projects. She earned her LEED Green Associate certification and is working towards becoming licensed.
Life on the coast of Maine instilled Ellen with deep appreciation for our natural world. She is constantly looking for new places and environments to explore, this led her to pack up her life (and skis) and drive cross country to start her next adventure in Bend, Oregon.
Ellen is excited to explore the Pacific Northwest.
