With a background in health and fitness, Stacy’s interest in architecture is fueled by her understanding of the inherent relationship between the human body and our built environment. She believes a well designed space can uplift, relax, and even energize a person’s mental state and physical well-being. Her goal is to create designs for healthier lifestyles through human kinetics, ergonomic comfort, and environmental connectivity.
During her undergraduate studies at North Carolina State University, Stacy and another classmate were awarded a travel fellowship for demonstrating academic merit and design excellence. The fellowship granted her the opportunity to study the evolution of shared heritage in architecture throughout Europe and the Mediterranean. In 2015 she graduated from NCSU with Bachelors’ Degrees in Environmental Design and in Architecture.
Stacy joined Szostak Design, Inc in Chapel Hill, NC in 2014 where she contributed to a variety of cultural, civic, and residential projects. Seeking a new adventure in 2018, Stacy and her husband packed their bags and their bikes and moved to Bend, Oregon. Shortly after, she joined the team at BLRB Architects where she worked on several multi-family and commercial projects while simultaneously studying for the Architectural Review Exams (AREs) successfully becoming licensed in 2020. In April 2021, Stacy joined the Stemach Design + Architecture team where she will continue to foster her passion for cultivating healthy lifestyles through architectural design.
Outside of work, Stacy is an avid cyclist, both indoor and outdoor. She leads outdoor group road rides, a local ARE study group, and participates in many vegan initiatives in Bend. Stacy invests her time in organizations that endorse a shared enthusiasm for health and well-being. When she isn’t working or volunteering, you can find her exploring Bend with her husband and hiking with her two standard poodles.
