Riff Cold Brewed Coffee was an interior renovation of an existing suite in the Historic Box Factory, accessible through the breezeway or Arizona Avenue frontage. The vibrant space uses functioning cold brew coffee equipment as a central display, as well as a one-of-a-kind tap systems with 30 different color-coded taps. A kitchen, cold storage room, small office, and dry storage room occupy part of the first floor, while a central bar provides seating for patrons, and a small retail area. A new mezzanine was also constructed to house additional seating, art displays, and a mechanical room.
The main wall in the taproom acts as a canvas to a 1,000 square-foot collaborative mural led by local artist, Megan Stumpfig. Nearly 200 people participated in the project, including some members of the Stemach Design team. The mural illustrates brightly colored coffee beans and leaves, representing the range of flavors naturally available in coffee. The mural also expresses Riff's cultural values anchored in collaboration, creativity, and community.
